Energy efficient lighting products have exceptional features to make your home or business more comfortable while using less energy.

Optimize Your Fixtures

Save the most money with your fixtures by using them in combination with the appropriate energy efficient bulbs.

Table & Floor Lamps

  • Spiral, globe, torpedo or tubed CFLs or globe, semi globe or capsule LEDs are a great choice.
  • If your lamp uses a 3-way socket, look for a 3-way bulb to use. Check the product description to ensure the bulb is designed for the application intended.
  • If your lamp is connected to a dimmer switch, make sure you only use dimmable bulbs or else they won't dim and bulb life will be shortened.

Ceiling Fixtures

  • Spiral or tubed CFLs or globe or reflector LEDs are an ideal choice. If you choose a CFL, ensure your fixture allows airflow, as excessive heat will shorten bulb life and decrease the amount of light it gives off.
  • If your ceiling fixture is connected to a dimmer switch, make sure you only use dimmable bulbs or else they won't dim and bulb life will be shortened.

Ceiling Fans

  • Most people prefer the look of candle, torpedo or small reflector CFLs or LEDs, but spiral and tubed CFLs can be used. For some ceiling fans, the size of the bulb is important.
  • If your ceiling fan is connected to a dimmer switch, make sure you only use dimmable bulbs or else they won't dim and bulb life will be shortened.

Wall Sconces

  • Due to their smaller sizes, spiral, tubed or candle CFLs or LEDs are an ideal choice.
  • If your sconce is connected to a dimmer switch, make sure you only use dimmable bulbs or else they won't dim and bulb life will be shortened.

Recessed Cans

  • Indoor reflector CFLs or LEDs are ideal for use in recessed cans because they are designed to direct the light out of the fixture and withstand the heat buildup.
  • If your recessed cans are connected to a dimmer switch, make sure you use dimmable reflectors or else they won't dim and bulb life will be shortened.

Outdoor Covered Fixtures

  • Spiral or tubed CFLs and globe or capsule LEDs are great for in outdoor covered fixtures where they won't be exposed to the elements directly.
  • In colder temperatures, check the product descriptions and packaging for starting temperatures to make sure bulbs will work properly.
  • Many photocells, motion sensors and electronic timers are not designed to work with CFLs. Check product descriptions for compatibility or choose an energy efficient LED.

Outdoor Exposed Fixtures

  • Outdoor flood light bulbs are recommended for outdoor exposed fixtures. These bulbs have special cases that keep them working efficiently through wind, rain, snow and ice.
  • In colder temperatures, check the product descriptions and packaging for starting temperatures to make sure bulbs will work properly.
  • Many photocells, motion sensors and electronic timers are not designed to work with CFLs. Check product descriptions for compatibility or choose an energy efficient LED.
